It is exciting to be able to drive into the Otaki Forks again, making day trips like this one so much more attractive!

We left the Otaki Forks at about 9am and made good time to Field Hut, stopping for a break before deciding to push on up to Table Top for lunch. A novice (and a possible prospective Parawai) tramper who had not been further than Field Hut, decided to join us.

We arrived at Table Top and as we got out our sandwiches, the hail started to fall, making for a brief stop!

On the way back down to Field Hut we met up with Paul Michl and Jen Perry who had come to join us; very nice!

Together, we finished our lunch at Field Hut before wandering back down.

A lovely day.
