Carkeek Hut Waitangi Extended 6-10 February

A trip to Carkeek Hut. We started by going to Roaring Stag from the Mangatainoka road, then down the Ruamahanga River to Cleft Creek and then over Cow Saddle to Cow Creek. Than we headed up the Waingawa River to Arete Forks and up the steep ridge up to the Waiohine Pinnacles and then along to Tarn Ridge Hut. Then we wandered down Dorset Ridge to Park Forks and up the old track through bush to Carkeek Hut. We then went along Carkeek Ridge to Lancaster, Arete Hut, Dundas, Logan and down to Dundas Ridge Hut. Then we tramped to Pukemoremore, West Peak, East Peak, Herepai Hut and back out to the road end.
