From the Otaki Forks overnight carpark we wandered up the road as far as the top campground before crossing the Waiotauru River. We then followed a lightly marked trail across the flats to Sheridan Creek. Here the trail turned up the creek towards the log hauler and we picked our way up through the scrub onto Rae Ridge. Up the ridge to Dennan and out down the track via Fields Hut.
