The Waingawa River was up Sunday morning after the rain on Saturday
But up Mighty Mitre we went
It was a little bleak on top, but light wind and not cold
Peggy's Peak looms
A short climb gets you to the top
Mighty Mitre
And down the steep other side
On to Brockett
and up to Girdlestone
It got very cold and was still wet so we headed down to Tarn Ridge hut for the night
Looking back at the climb down from Girdlestone
You cant beat the view from Tarn Ridge - (LtoR) the Twins, Bannister and Dundas Ridge
The Twins (L) and Bannister (R) close up

Tarn Ridge hut
Killing time...there was no firewood and it got very cold - so much so, we all jumped into our sleeping bags
We headed off the next morning in good weather. Dorset Ridge Tarn
The climb back to Girdles

Old Boots doing the Parawai salute
Looking down the Three Kings. The Broken Arse (Axe) Pinnacles and McGregor on the far right
The cloud started coming in

Into the darkness five brave souls went
Monsta is clearly concentrating!
The nurgly bits before the climb onto Adkin
Time for a drink stop
Climbing up towards North King
On top of Mid King and the sign down to the Biv
South King bound
GUO is triumphant on South King
Heading down off South King to the Baldy turn off (exit stage left)
