Kime - Waiotauru 8-9 November
A descent via the East Waiotauru (Snowy) River from the Field Peak-Hector saddle. Saturday - Up to Kime Hut via Fields and Bridge Peak, where we stopped for a brew. Then wandered over Field Peak to the saddle below Hector. From there we headed down through knee deep snow to drop into the Waiotauru (or Snowy) headwater. Then down the river to a suitable campsite. Sunday - Down the river to the Snowy Hut. Beyond the hut we climbed out of the river and followed the old logging track that does a high sidle down to Tregear Stream. From Tregear Stream we followed the old logging road and then the track down to the Otaki Forks road end.
