Tararua Southern Main Range 11-13 January
A classic Taraura trip. Friday - Up to Kime Hut for the night. Saturday - Along the southern main range to Anderson Memorial Hut. Sunday - Down to Waitewaewae Hut and out to Otaki Forks.

Even when you go to the toilet in the mountains you must always remember to pull the chain!
We made it through before the winds got stronger
Maungakuha hut - you couldn't get a better location
Onwards towards Aokaporangi (the wind was gusting 70km and it was very hard to walk!)

The next day we had 70+km winds and rain to add to the fun, we reached Junction knob after some hard pushing

The Otaki river was pretty brown and wide
