Kawekas 15-19 April

A 6 day trip to the Kaweka Range during the Roar session. IE we encountered heaps of hunters. At the end we enjoyed a helicopter flight back to the cars.
Friday - We started at the Makahu Road carpark for the track to Middle Hill Hut.
Saturday - Up the Camp Spur Track to Whetu. Then west along the track to Venison Tops Hut (aka Tira Lodge) for lunch. Then south along the track to Rocks Ahead Hut.
Sunday - We crossed the Ngauroro River by a cage, checked out the Rocks Ahead Bivouac on the other side of the river and headed up on to Spion Cop and along to Manson and on to Manson Hut. We did a side trip to view the Old Manson Hut. Then south along the track to Kiwi Mouth Hut to camp.
Monday - up Kiwi Creek to Kiwi Saddle Hut.
Tuesday - Back to Kiwi Mouth Hut along the ridge line track. Then our flight out.
